Updates to Divvy bike share’s GBFS feed

For users of our GBFS feed, there will be a slight change on July 23, 2020.

For users of our GBFS feed, there will be a slight change on July 23, 2020, and we want to spread awareness.

Currently in the GBFS station_information.json and station_status.json feed the format of the station ID is usually a number going from “1” to “99999”.

On July 23, these fields will be replaced by a new ID so that all stations in the bikeshare system can have a unique public ID. For example, in the Citi Bike system station ID “72” will now change to “motivate_BKN_66db237e-0aca-11e7-82f6-3863bb44ef7c”.

We are also adding a LEGACY_ID field in each of these feeds, which will contain the current, numeric station ID – or a compatible, not-previously used value for new stations. This will be a permanent addition to the feeds. LEGACY_ID will be unique only within a bikeshare system, not universally.

Please feel free to share this with your networks.

Thank you for your continued interest in the Divvy system.
